re-order Project

Consumer Phase

This phase of the re-order project aimed to gaining consumer perspectives on what they recognise as ‘key ingredients’ for effective depression care. Computer assisted telephone interviews (CATI) were conducted with 576 people that were experiencing symptoms of depression. Interviews took between 45 minutes and one hour to conduct.  The role of general practitioners/family physicians in the management and care of patients presenting to primary care with depressive symptoms was explored. In addition, we sought their views on the ‘causes’ of depression and explored the broader social attitudes towards depression. Preliminary results from this extensive consultation have been compiled, with further in-depth analysis underway.
